Our May/June issue took home top prize in its field at the Canadian Cover Awards in Toronto on February 27, and our publisher, Greg Keilty won the Newsstand Marketer of the Year prize for his work in making SkyNews a success on the newsstand. Wonderful news!

SkyNews took home top honours in the Sports and Leisure category, for its May/June 2012 cover. The issue sold 4,800 copies for a 97% increase over the last corresponding edition, and was noteworthy for including a pair of solar eclipse glasses for safe viewing of the the transit of Venus in June. Newsstand sales have risen 43% over the year.

My friend Frank Edwards has published his first e-book, and I designed the cover for him. 

Everest: High Expectations tells the gripping story of two Canadian climbing expeditions that captured the attention of the mountaineering world in 1982 and 1986 — written by two climbers (Pat Morrow and Sharon Wood) who reached Everest’s summit in distinctly different ways.
